TRAVIS
A little boy came with his foster parent to see Cynthia Kersee; a coordinator is next to my cubicle. I said “Hi Travis”, he said back “Hi”. Then I offered him a piece of chocolate. His foster parent and coordinator needed to do some paper works so I offered to watch Travis.
After finished eating chocolate, I asked “do you like to have something on my desk to play with?”, he pointed my family’s picture. I gave to him and explained who was in the picture. He continued to point another thing, I didn’t know what he wanted because he shook his head after this one to another. Finally, I held his hand and said “Now, you point and touch whatever you want”, he pointed and touched American flag that I have on my desk since I’ve been here. It really shocked me, not even only that, he was holding that flag in his hand with a very happy face. He held it in his right hand, and put his left hand on his right chest…My tears almost came out, my body was shaking… I helped to change the flag from his right hand to left hand and put his hand from right chest to left chest…He started singing loud “Oh say can you see....", he face looked very happy, and seriously. I asked Nina Carl to come over to sing with him. They sang, and sang the whole National Anthem.
It is amazing. It is then that I’m most willing to admit that he has some divine knowledge that rises above my mortal questions. I have been proud of being an American citizen that I can’t even finish the second sentence of the song “ National Anthem”. It is then I realize that perhaps he is not the one with MR – I am.
