 Bánh mì kiểu VN đã đi vào văn hóa ẩm thực Mỹ. Tuy nhiên sự biến chế đôi khi làm mất hương vị truyền thống của loại quà này. Trên đây là một khúc bánh mì thịt với rau húng, tía tô, lại rắc thêm đậu phộng  , giá 8 dollars, ở một tiệm thuộc khu downtown Los Angeles.
